Everyone knows that creating lesson plans and grading papers are two of the most time consuming things that teachers have to do. I have found a website that can be used to help create an effective lesson plan. It offers tips of things that need to be considered when writing lesson plans.
Important Areas to consider when writing lesson plans:
1) Content-important keys, facts and concepts that you plan to cover in your lesson.
2) Goals- Outcomes you want your students to achieve as a result of the lesson.
3) Objectives-Objectives you hope your students will achieve by the tasks they will engage in.
4) Materials- materials and resources you will need to conduct lesson.
5) Introduction- How you will get the attention of your students.
6) Development- how you plan to model or explain what you want your students to do.
7) Independent Practice-list or describe ways to provide opportunities for your students to complete assignments to measure progress against the goal of instruction
8) Accommodations- list or describe ways that you will differentiate instruction according to students' needs.
9) Check for Understanding- List or describe ways that you will check for understanding through assessment and ongoing feedback.
10) Closure- list or describe a way to wrap up the lesson.
11) Evaluation- List or describe ways that you will assess or measure student success in achieving the outcomes that you planned to reach
12) Teacher Reflection- completed after lesson to help you evaluate what went well and what needs to be adjusted for following lessons.
